Meet Chris

From the moment I could hold a pencil, I've been drawing.

Whether it's the elegance of simple black-and-white sketches or the vibrant energy of abstract compositions, I've always found inspiration in the play of lines and color.

My formal education led me to major in painting and drawing in college. Following graduation, I started my career journey as a production assistant at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, where I contributed to the creation of interactive exhibits. It was during this time, in the early 90s, that I first encountered Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, igniting my passion for graphic design. As I honed my skills, I progressed to designing graphics for the museum’s immersive environments and hands-on activities, blending artistry with functionality.

After a fulfilling 16-year tenure at the museum, which also included freelance illustration and design, I transitioned to a career designing for the world of technology. I discovered a knack for organizing information and crafting easy-to-use digital experiences. Over the past 18 years, I've immersed myself in the field of user experience design, shaping websites, intranets, and software platforms across a diverse range of industries.

Here’s a link to a space with some of my work from these earlier times.

While the demands of my professional UX Research and Design career demanded much of my energy and time, my love for art remained steadfast. Now, as I've grown older, I’m reconnecting with my creative roots. Drawing inspiration from my varied experiences—be it from the pages of comic books, the intricacies of technology, or the beauty of nature—I'm rediscovering an artistic expression in new ways.

I’m just beginning this new creative exploration. I'm eager to embark on this journey and see where it takes me. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story can make all the difference.
